About Us
Creating Tomorrow’s Leaders Through Faith, Family, and Education
St. Paul Lutheran School has been a staple on Chicago’s South Side since 1889. We incorporate faith-based instruction that guides our students though a journey of human development towards God’s objective for man, “that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Timothy 3:17).
Our History
“Feed My Lambs” is a command from Jesus that led to the opening of St. Paul Lutheran School. In 1889, St. Paul began as a one room Christian Day School with 14 pupils. As the church’s congregation grew, so did the school. In 1934, the school expanded to grades Kindergarten through 6. Over the years, we have served generations of families who have grown to know Christ through their experiences at St. Paul.
St. Paul Lutheran School Vision Statement
Students at St. Paul Lutheran School will come to know Christ through biblical teachings and apply God’s truth to lead and serve. Students will be challenged academically for this rapidly changing world; by problem solving and understanding global perspectives. Our students success today prepares them for leadership tomorrow.
School Mission
St. Paul Lutheran School students understand what it means to follow Jesus and to grow as God’s child. Each child has the opportunity for one on one instruction with their teachers and an instructional coach that will PUSH (Push, Uplift, Socialize, and Hands-on) their academic limits. All children are unique and learn differently, and every child is seen, heard, and flourishes at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran School. We are creating tomorrow’s leaders through faith, family and education.
Academic Success
The majority of our students met/or exceeded national norms on the Measurement of Academic Progress (MAP) exam and 100% of our students are accepted into high achieving parochial or chartered schools. We are proud to be a partner with CLEF (Chicago Lutheran Education Foundation) and have a LINK scholarship recipient.
